Being a parent is one of the most important responsibilities an adult can have in his or her lifetime. Parents are providers, caretakers, a child's first teacher, spiritual advisers, counselors, coaches, encouragers, fans, and hopefully friends.
As a parent, each role we play in our child's life is an important one, but the first and most important role is the "parent as teacher." A parent is the most influential teacher a child will ever have. As each of us continues to develop our parenting roles, let's also support our child's teacher in his or her educational role.
